Stainless steels

Austenitic, ferritic and martensitic stainless grades. From general fabrication to chemical processes, select the grade with service environment, machining and delivery condition in mind.

Why selection starts with the environment

The stainless family covers different grades for welded tanks, precision shafts and hardened cutters. Chlorides, acids, cleaning chemicals and temperature change corrosion requirements. Final finish and heat experienced during manufacture also belong in the selection.

Manufacturing route matters alongside grade

A sulfur-bearing grade can benefit turning, while welding or corrosive service may require another choice. Work hardening in austenitic grades and final heat treatment in martensitic grades influence the production plan. State section and delivery condition with the designation.
