Distinguish oxidation resistance from load-bearing performance

314 is considered where high-temperature oxidation matters. Resisting surface oxidation is different from retaining shape under prolonged load. Define load, section and service duration separately for furnace supports, baskets and protective components.

When comparing with 310S

Silicon content is an important distinction in 314, but selection cannot be reduced to comparing maximum temperatures. Gas atmosphere, heating and cooling cycles, and welding affect the result. State product form and specification alongside the material number; a heat-resistant grade name alone does not establish pressure-equipment compliance.

Typical application areas

Furnace parts, heat-treatment equipment, hot processes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I request 1.4841 in cut lengths?+

Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.

Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+

Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
