304 or 304L?
A welded tank and a turned connection have different priorities. Low-carbon 304L is considered to reduce the effect of weld heat on grain boundaries. Using both names together does not automatically establish dual certification. If the drawing specifies 1.4301, that identity must be met in the quotation and certificate.
Choose surface and environment together
A bright finish alone does not guarantee corrosion performance for 304. Cleaning agents, chlorides, deposits and the ability of a component to dry affect selection. Post-weld surface cleaning also influences the finished part. Include the service environment and required surface condition in your enquiry.
Starting section for fabrication
Thickness and finish matter for deep-formed sheet; diameter, straightness and machining allowance matter for bar. Cold work can alter strength and magnetic response, so magnetism alone does not identify an incorrect grade. Define the product form and annealed or cold-worked delivery condition together.
Typical application areas
Food equipment, tank components, general machinery and architectural parts.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 1.4301 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
