Calculate weight for this sectionSpecify thickness and width orientation
Write flat-bar enquiries as width × thickness × length, with units. Faces to be machined and faces retained in the component can have different requirements. Rolled flat bar and a blank cut from another stock form do not automatically have the same product specification or delivery requirements simply because their dimensions match.
Edges and flatness requirements
If functional, specify edge condition, corner radius, twist and flatness at quotation. Sawn ends and machined end faces are also distinct requirements. Separating finished dimensions from machining allowance helps preserve usable material after cutting and compare quotations on the same basis.
Choose the grade with the section
The same section can serve different applications in different grades. Tell us about the operating environment, machining needs and any material specification.
