Why is 430F alone incomplete?
Different EN identities can appear under the 430F trade reference. Carbon and other composition limits of 1.4104 and 1.4105 should not be assumed identical. Use the drawing EN number or certificate when replacing a component; searchable related names do not establish unconditional equivalence.
Machinability and service medium
Sulfur-assisted chip behaviour can help series turning. Welding, impact or corrosive-fluid requirements need separate assessment. A grade that is attractive during manufacturing does not automatically replace a corrosion-focused grade when the service environment differs.
Details for a bar enquiry
Specify tolerance, delivery hardness and bar-feeding length with diameter or across-flats size. Finish, straightness and whether stock surfaces remain on the finished component matter. This allows material identity and geometry to be assessed against the production line together.
Typical application areas
Automatic-lathe parts, fasteners and turned components.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 1.4104 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
