Different roles of molybdenum and titanium
Molybdenum alloying contributes to corrosion behaviour, while titanium stabilisation has a different role associated with binding carbon. Separating these functions clarifies why 316Ti is selected. It should not simply be described as a stronger version of 316L.
Can it directly replace 316L?
Similar application lists do not establish automatic substitution. Thermal exposure, welding, machining plans and customer specifications must be assessed together. Specify 1.4571 / 316Ti, the required product standard and supply condition, including which finished surfaces will contact the fluid.
Typical application areas
Chemical processes, heat exchangers, industrial equipment.

Frequently asked questions
Can I request 1.4571 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
