Choose surface quality and strength together

6060 is useful where complex profile sections and decorative surfaces matter. A component needing higher strength may call for assessment of another grade such as 6082, but their surface and processing behaviour differ. Share visible faces, connection details and load-bearing function alongside the drawing or dimensions. The alloy name alone does not guarantee a decorative finishing result.

Extruded section and temper

Assess T5, T6 or another delivery condition with the requirements applicable to the product standard and section. Mechanical values for an extruded profile should not be transferred directly to plate made by a different route. Length, section tolerance and surface condition are separate quotation inputs. For machined parts, defining clamping areas, allowance and finished dimensions helps describe the required stock size clearly.

Welding and final surface treatment

Weldability does not mean the weld surroundings retain the original delivery strength. Joint details and post-weld processing are particularly important for load-bearing parts. If anodising or painting is planned, include the process sequence and appearance target. Specify the required profile, tube or cut form with dimensions and quantity for assessment against its product standard; do not assume automatic coverage across forms.

Typical application areas

Frames, profile parts, enclosures, visible-surface components.

Product and cutting options

Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.

What to specify in your enquiry

  • Grade designation and applicable material standard
  • Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
  • Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements

Frequently asked questions

Can I request 3.3206 in cut lengths?+

Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.

Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+

Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
