UNS R50700 - Family
- Commercially pure titanium
It follows a different route from Grade 5
Grade 4 strength is linked to the element limits within commercially pure titanium; Grade 5 is a different alloy containing aluminium and vanadium. Select between them using more than hardness or density alone. Consider cold bending, machining and loading together. A forming approach established for Grade 1 or Grade 2 should not be transferred directly to Grade 4.
Delivery form affects manufacturing
For annealed bar or plate, choose dimensions, surface condition and machining allowance around the final component. Higher strength means workholding and tooling should not simply be assumed identical to softer commercially pure grades. Cleanliness and shielding remain important during welding and hot processing. Annealing manages ductility and stress; it does not imply precipitation hardening. Product geometry also influences delivery requirements.
State the specification and intended use
AMS 4901 for flat products and AMS 4921 for forms such as bar, wire, forgings and rings are possible specification examples; check scope and revision against the request. State intended use, dimensions and inspection requirements for equipment or medical components. The Grade 4 designation alone does not establish final-device suitability or approval for a particular application; define those requirements separately.
Typical application areas
Machined components, connection parts, specification-led equipment elements.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 3.7065 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
