Consider the alloying functions together
Nickel, chromium, molybdenum and copper contribute to different environmental responses, while titanium supports stabilisation against intergranular corrosion with suitable heat treatment. This combination makes 825 relevant to many processes. The acid name alone is insufficient: concentration, temperature, contaminants and the condition of welded surfaces are needed.
825 and 925 are different delivery choices
Alloy 825 does not develop strength by ageing in the same way as 925. A corrosion comparison alone is therefore incomplete for a loaded shaft or valve component. Review mechanical requirements alongside final manufacturing steps; ageing 825 should not be expected to produce the properties of 925.
Annealing and product form
Annealing matters for ductility and stabilisation. ASTM B425 for rod and bar and ASTM B424 for sheet and plate are example product specifications. Include section size, condition, testing and documentation requirements. A long-product specification should not be assumed sufficient for pipe or welded connections; acceptance must match the requested product.
Typical application areas
Acid processes, pollution-control equipment, oil and gas hardware and heat-exchanger components.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 2.4858 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
