The main properties of HR-120

HR-120 combines nickel, iron and chromium for components exposed to furnace gases while carrying loads. Alongside strength, it is known for oxidation and carburisation resistance. Carburisation means carbon entering the metal from its furnace atmosphere.

Baskets and handling equipment

Baskets and supports hold components inside hot zones. Mesh belts, basket liners and handling equipment face similar conditions. HR-120 serves these duties, which combine gas exposure with sustained or repeated mechanical loading while hot.

Heat-transfer and process applications

Radiant tubes deliver heat into furnaces; recuperators recover heat from exhaust gases. HR-120 serves these components along with retorts and certain waste-incineration parts, providing several roles within industrial heating installations.

Distinguishing HR-120 and HR-160

HR-120 and HR-160 are different compositions, not successive strength levels. HR-120 is nickel–iron–chromium based; cobalt and silicon are more prominent distinctions in HR-160. HR-120 is identified by 2.4854 and N08120.

Typical application areas

Furnace baskets, radiant tubes, retorts and heat-recovery equipment.
