- Nickel-iron
The 800 name alone is insufficient
Chemical similarities between 800, 800H and 800HT do not make their delivery requirements identical. Carbon range and grain requirements in 800H support creep and rupture behaviour at temperature. Base Alloy 800 should not be accepted in place of 800H merely because its nominal nickel or chromium content looks similar.
Service duration and atmosphere
Sustained hot loading differs from a brief temperature excursion. Define the heating atmosphere, carburisation, oxidation and mechanical stresses together. Selecting a furnace tube by temperature alone without operating duration and loading is incomplete; the data required by the design code must also be checked.
Read identity and documentation together
Specify UNS N08810 together with product form and required delivery condition. ASTM B408 for rod and bar and ASTM B409 for flat products are example specifications. Since 1.4876 also appears in some family records, a material number alone is insufficient; dual certification to 800HT requires its additional conditions to be met.
Typical application areas
Furnace components, petrochemical heaters, high-temperature piping and thermal equipment.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 1.4958 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
