Target property balance through ageing
Conditions such as H950 and H1000 are not different names for one delivery state. Target strength, fracture toughness and stress-corrosion requirements are considered with the appropriate final condition. An H code alone does not explain the component’s full behaviour without specifying processing after machining or welding.
Assessment as an alternative to alloy steel
Custom 465 may be considered when seeking alternatives to high-strength alloy steels requiring corrosion protection. This does not permit substitution for 4340 or 300M without approval. Design stresses, fatigue, connection geometry and manufacturing route need review, with specification compliance confirmed for the project.
Match product form to documentation scope
AMS 5936 is one example for bar, wire, forgings and forging stock, including solution-treated delivery and vacuum-melting requirements. The same number cannot be transferred to every plate or tubing size. Include product form, dimensions, final condition and inspection needs together in the enquiry.
Typical application areas
Aerospace structural connections, actuator parts, high-strength shafts.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request Custom 465 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
