Solution-treated stock and defined ageing
Material ordered in Condition A may not yet have received its final ageing treatment. Machining and joining should be planned accordingly. Conditions such as H950 or H1000 produce different strength–toughness balances; the same H label in another PH grade does not make all properties equivalent.
Make test orientation explicit in heavy sections
For a connection loaded across the working direction, longitudinal test data alone may be insufficient. Short-transverse and transverse requirements should be stated with blank orientation and inspection needs. A controlled melting route matters, but describing material as clean does not replace the required toughness test.
Match the specification to the product form
AMS 5629 is one example covering products such as bar, wire and forgings; AMS 5864 is a plate specification. A plate specification cannot automatically be transferred to every sheet or tubing product. Provide dimensions, delivery condition, specification revision and documentation requirements in the same enquiry.
Typical application areas
Aerospace connections, actuator components, highly loaded shafts.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 13-8 PH in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
