Rotating and static components need different assessments
A critical rotating component and a lower-stress static part may have different acceptance requirements. A single temperature limit should therefore not be applied to every Waspaloy use. Read creep, fatigue, exposure time and cycling with the design requirements, and assess hot-strength benefits against the actual project need.
How fabrication affects selection
Work hardening and high strength can make machining and forming demanding, making intermediate annealing and operation sequence important. Weldability should not be assumed equivalent to Alloy 718. Before changing material solely for a higher temperature requirement, review the final geometry and a practical manufacturing procedure together.
Specification and delivery condition
AMS 5706 for long products and AMS 5544 for flat products are example references, with conditions checked against the full specification. One number should not be assumed to cover every Waspaloy form. Provide UNS N07001, dimensions, delivery condition, final treatment and tests; the trade name alone does not authorise substitution for another superalloy.
Typical application areas
Turbine discs, hot engine hardware, high-temperature connections and rings.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 2.4654 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
