AGE-HARDENABLE NICKEL

Alloy 925 Nickel Alloy

Alloy 925 is an age-hardenable nickel-iron-chromium alloy developed to combine corrosion resistance with high mechanical strength. Molybdenum and copper contribute to environmental resistance, while titanium and aluminium support strengthening. It should not be confused with Alloy 825, designated N08825.

Combined requirements for shafts and valves

A component may require load capacity, fatigue performance and dimensional precision alongside resistance to its process fluid. Define these requirements separately when selecting Alloy 925. Membership of the nickel family or a similar name to 825 does not establish identical chemistry, heat-treatment response or corrosion performance in every environment.

Who performs the final ageing treatment?

Solution-treated starting stock and aged delivery serve different manufacturing plans. Machining stresses can influence distortion in precision parts. Establish whether final heat treatment belongs to the supplier or fabricator, which condition must be tested and how dimensions will be accepted. The grade name alone does not guarantee finished-component properties.

H₂S and documentation requirements

Sour-service selection requires H₂S exposure, temperature, fluid composition and material condition to be reviewed together. A general NACE or ISO reference does not establish suitability for every well. Provide UNS N09925, form, dimensions, target mechanical condition and the project specification. Acceptance must match the product; an unverified material number should not be added as an equivalent.

Typical application areas

Downhole and surface equipment, valve parts, hangers and high-strength pump shafts.

  • Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements

Frequently asked questions

Can I request Alloy 925 in cut lengths?+

Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.

Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+

Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
