Requirements determine a move from 80A
A higher number alone does not make a material more appropriate. The cobalt-alloyed structure changes fabrication considerations alongside hot-strength performance. When considering 90 instead of 80A, compare service temperature, load duration, cycling and specifications rather than treating nominal tensile strength as an automatic upgrade path.
Welded-section thickness matters
Joining thin sheet and welding a thicker section are different fabrication problems. Microfissuring, starting condition and post-weld treatment require assessment. Since sheet and bar can follow different treatment routes, the condition stated on the material certificate should align with the operations planned for the final component.
Match specification scope to the product
BS HR 2 for long products and BS HR 202 for flat products are example references, subject to revision and project acceptance checks. A welding-wire specification listed beside Nimonic 90 does not apply automatically to bar. State UNS N07090, section, length, condition and testing requirements clearly in the order.
Typical application areas
Turbine discs and blades, rings, hot-service forgings and hot-working tools.

Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 2.4632 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
