High molybdenum is not the only criterion
Molybdenum and tungsten matter in particular corrosive conditions and must be considered alongside chromium. Comparisons with C-22 should use data for the same acid, concentration and temperature. Ranking isolated results from different tests does not establish one grade as universally superior across all processes.
Post-weld corrosion requirements
Low carbon and silicon benefit welded use, but joint design and welding procedure remain important. Base metal and weld metal may perform differently in a given environment. If hot forming or substantial cold work is planned, assess final annealing and surface cleanliness against the component’s corrosion requirements.
Acceptance from material to finished product
ASTM B574 for long products and ASTM B575 for flat products are example specifications. Requesting pipe or a flange in the same alloy introduces different product and testing requirements. Clearly state identity, form, dimensions, condition and traceability; a grade cross-reference table cannot replace this information.
Typical application areas
Chemical process vessels, heat exchangers, evaporators, waste treatment and piping components.
Product and cutting options
Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request 2.4819 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
