SOLID-SOLUTION ALLOY

Alloy C-2000 / 2.4675 Nickel Alloy

Alloy C-2000 is a nickel–chromium–molybdenum alloy used for resistance to a broad range of acids. Copper particularly supports sulphuric-acid resistance. Applications include reactors, heat exchangers and equipment exposed to chemical fluids.

What distinguishes C-2000

C-2000 belongs to the high-chromium, high-molybdenum nickel alloys. A deliberate copper addition distinguishes it from some related grades, particularly for sulphuric-acid service. Its applications extend across a range of chemical equipment.

The balance of chromium, molybdenum and copper

Chromium supports protection against oxidising chemicals. Molybdenum contributes to acid and localised chloride resistance, while copper complements its acid performance. Their combination explains the alloy’s use in both oxidising and non-oxidising chemicals.

Use in reactors and exchangers

Reactors and heat exchangers combine chemical exposure with temperature. C-2000 serves their wetted sections, acid piping and other process parts. Its principal purpose is a chemically resistant metal surface rather than exceptional hardness.

Relationship to C-22 and C-276

C-2000 is not another spelling of C-22 or C-276. All three serve corrosion applications but have different element limits. Copper is a prominent distinction for C-2000, identified separately by 2.4675 and N06200.

Chemical reactors, heat exchangers, acid piping and process equipment.
