- Solid-solution alloy
Family numbers are not a universal strength ranking
Similar names do not mean that 75, 80A and 90 are merely strength levels of one material. Nimonic 75 emphasises hot-service hardware that can be formed and welded. Sustained high-load components require a separate comparison of strengthening mechanisms, creep requirements and service conditions.
Starting condition before welding
Annealed material provides a suitable starting point for forming and welding, while prior cold work must also be considered. Surface cleanliness and welding procedure remain part of the selection. Post-weld treatment requirements depend on the design and actual environment rather than the alloy name alone.
Define sheet and bar separately
Material records may cite 2.4630 alongside 2.4951. Specify UNS N06075, form, dimensions and the required annealing condition together. BS HR 203 for flat products and BS HR 5 for long products are example references; their revision and project acceptance must be confirmed before making a common compliance statement across all forms.
Typical application areas
Hot sheet-metal hardware, furnace parts, heat-treatment equipment and gas-turbine components.

Frequently asked questions
Can I request 2.4951 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
