Processing from stock to final inspection
Solution-treated material may be machined before receiving the required ageing treatment. Machining and correction become different tasks in the final condition, so allowance and inspection sequence should be established at the outset. Low distortion does not imply zero dimensional change or residual stress.
Crack tolerance as strength increases
Tensile strength alone should not determine the choice of the 350 class. Crack-growth resistance, loading direction and environment may impose other design limits. Replacing a lower maraging class with 350 does not justify reducing component dimensions without approval or retaining the same welding procedure.
The correct class and product scope
AMS 6515 is one example for the Maraging 350 bar and forging family with double-vacuum melting and solution-treated delivery. The same number does not automatically establish plate compliance. State dimensions, starting condition and inspection needs; this non-stainless steel also requires assessment of environmental protection.
Typical application areas
Very highly loaded blanks, specialized tooling components, precision structural parts.

Share the section and dimensions you require for this grade. Availability is assessed for each request; the catalogue does not represent live stock.
What to specify in your enquiry
- Grade designation and applicable material standard
- Section, finished dimensions and machining allowance
- Quantity, delivery condition and certificate requirements
Frequently asked questions
Can I request Maraging 350 in cut lengths?+
Share your required section, dimensions and quantity. Our team will assess suitable supply and cutting options for the specific grade.
Are the listed grade designations interchangeable?+
Designation systems can overlap, but they do not make every specification identical. Use the exact standard and certificate requirements defined by your project.
